What do I do now?

Find the right ABA provider.

Don’t hesitate to interview several providers! You may want to consider the benefits of in-home versus clinic-based treatment.

Verify Insurance Benefits

Check that the ABA provider you’ve chosen is in-network with your insurance carrier.

At Comprehensive Behavior Development, we will do this for you. All you need to do is fill out an intake form. After we verify your benefits, we will call you to explain your insurance coverage and benefits.

Consultation with the BCBA

Once your verification is complete, the BCBA will schedule a free in-home consultation with you. During the consultation, she will come meet you and your child, explain our program and what to expect, and answer any questions that you may have.

Evaluation

Next, we will set up an initial evaluation. The BCBA will work directly with your child to assess their development and behavior. Parents may also be asked to fill out an online questionnaire as part of the evaluation process.

Insurance Authorization

Using the information gathered during the evaluation, the BCBA will submit a treatment plan to your insurance company for approval. Insurance requires submission of an updated treatment plan every 6 months for the duration of ABA services.

Begin ABA services

A schedule will be developed based on the BCBA’s clinical recommendations following the evaluation. Your home-based ABA program will begin!
